What's in Fruity Tea?
When you look at Plum Deluxe's loose-leaf fruity tea, you know you're about to brew up a cuppa goodness. You can't mistake it as it's so beautifully and deliberately blended to perfection with dried pieces of real fruit, or real fruit essence—sometimes both!
This is what sets them apart from so many other teas—it's what makes them so flavorful, so jam-packed with natural goodness, that you don't even need to add a sweetener because they're sweet enough.
When it really comes down to asking the question, "What's in fruity tea?" the answer goes back to our recipes. They're expertly crafted to bring out the best combination of fruity flavors that play off one another and inspire each other, as well as us, to push a little harder, dream a little bigger, and be more mindful. Indulge!
Some of the most notable fruit or fruity flavors you would find in fruity tea are mango, orange peel, pineapple, coconut, berries, orange, peach, pineapple, apricot, cherry, apple, mint, and lemon. Then there are always those amazing and fun ones you don't see coming that hit you like a sweet treat from the fruit tea Heavens: lemongrass, plum, yuzu, passionfruit, elderflower, dragonfruit, watermelon, and even honeysuckle.
What Does Fruity Tea Taste Like?
As I described the juicy and refreshing, some sweet, some tropical, some herbal fruits and essences above, what came to mind?
Perhaps it was sitting on a coastal beach, kicking back, soaking up some sun? That's definitely what you'll end up feeling like after you drink the Tropical Vacation green tea. This tea is a triple threat with real coconut pieces as well as real strawberry and pineapple pieces, and it's all wrapped together in a sea of green tea and green rooibos on a bed of pineapple, strawberry, and vanilla essence. This one is amazing iced as well!
Just as you'd suspect, fruity tea tastes much like the fruit and essences that are found spread throughout the loose-leaf tea. Plum Deluxe's fruit teas are so beautifully infused with fruit pieces and essences, which allow for a jam-packed fruit tea party in your mouth!
The tea base with which it's blended plays a role as well. White teas and herbal teas, rooibos included, will allow for much more of the fruity flavor to come forward.
Green teas will still pick up plenty of the fruit flavor and complement the natural flavors of the other essences that are added as well (like lemongrass)—that's where our expert crafters and tea creators come in!
When it comes to black tea, there will be a notable difference as black tea has a much stronger base, but this, too, is balanced beautifully with the chosen fruit flavors made to complement the tea.
It's amazing how much sweetness the fruit and its essences can bring into a black tea (for those who find it a bit bitter). I encourage you to try a cuppa fruity black tea and see what you think!

Are you wondering what the best fruity teas are?
This is where we dive into a cuppa fruit-packed fun on all of our 'bests'—when it comes to fruity teas! I have no doubt you'll find at least a couple you'll fall head over heels in love with!
Fruity Herbal Tea
I'm going to give you a few amazing fruity herbal tea options—one involves pure fruity flavors, another will be fruity and calming, and the final is a nice refreshing drink with some lively ginger. Try one or try both!
Strawberry Immunity herbal tea is a delicious blend of tart and fruit-filled flavors: strawberry essence and strawberry leaf, elderberry, echinacea, hibiscus, apple pieces, and to top it all off—blackberry/raspberry/strawberry. Not only is this drink so full of health benefits, but it tastes absolutely amazing. It's great to drink hot or serve it iced as well!
Another great herbal tea is Plum Deluxe's Tranquil Peach herbal tea which is a merriment of pineapple, peach, and chamomile. With this one, you get to enjoy the fruity flavor of pineapple and peach and sip in some calming chamomile. It's wonderful to enjoy any time of day, so steep up your sweet and delightful cuppa whenever you feel like it!
My final recommendation is Blueberry Ginger herbal tea. Not only is this tea tantalizing but it's beautiful! The recipe incorporates a perfect blend of rooibos (a favorite of mine), ginger, currant, blueberry, beetroot, cinnamon, blackberry leaf, and lemongrass, and the malva flowers give it such an enticing pop of color enrichment! It's warm, it's spicy, it's relaxing.
Fruity Green Tea
Ready for some green tea fruit teas? These have some caffeine, so for those sensitive to it, you may have to be a bit more mindful of the time of day you indulge. Outside of that—there are no 'wrongs' with all of these 'rights'! Let's get on it!
One of my favorite teas at Plum Deluxe is the Raspberry Revitalizer Lemon Mate. Two of my favorite flavors are wrapped into one—raspberry and lemon. It's tangy, it's lemony, it's a little sweet, and it has all the flavor I could ask for packed into one cuppa! The green mate makes it a bit more grassy than traditionally aged mate, but it's precisely balanced and matched with the hibiscus, apple pieces, lemon, and raspberry.
Another great choice is Citrus Mint green tea with its mirage of lemon, mint, orange, and lemongrass. The fruit flavors of lemon and orange dance across your palate, serenaded by lemongrass, with the perfect accompaniment of fresh mint to add just the right amount of 'Zen'—mindfully created just for you when you need a moment for some R&R. Try cold-brewing this one as well! Yum!
Fruity Black Tea
Are you feeling like kicking back to the good ole days? How about an old-fashioned dreamsicle? Well, then this tea is the tea for you! Hammock Blend black tea, an orange crème tea, encompasses everything it means to sit on your front porch, or take a stroll down the sidewalk and smile at friends or neighbors. The blend of orange peel and vanilla essence makes this tea everything that it is!
Here at Plum Deluxe, we're all about recipe creation, and we're always creating. New to our lineup is Beach Plum black tea! Feel like you're on a sweet escape with a cup of this fine tea. A black tea and green rooibos base blends dynamically with peach pieces, peach essence, plum essence, and calendula. What more could one ask for?
Fruity Iced Tea
Looking for a great summer iced tea that's crisp, refreshing, fruity, and flavor-forward? No problem!
Peach Bellini herbal tea—I don't know if we could pack in more fruit and flavor in this one! Whip it up to enjoy with those you love most, or simply for yourself when you want a moment to wrap up in some love.
The fruit: apple, apricot, strawberry, mango, and pineapple pieces make up this tea! Then we throw in some orange peel and rose petals, with peach and papaya essence, all atop a rooibos base, which is the foundation to build from. Need I say—divine!
To round out our options, we have the perfect oolong tea! Peaches 'n' Cream oolong tea is a popular choice and for good reason. It's created with a perfect blend of black tea and oolong (I adore oolong), and comes out with the superb flavor of delicately sweet, but not overly sweet and smooth, peach, with a soft cream flavor.
Fruity Tea Pairings
There are so many options when it comes to picking the perfect pairings for a party. One appetizer I feel a person can never go wrong with is cheese! Depending on which tea, herbal, green, or black you choose to go with, will vary on what is recommended for a cheese choice. I encourage you to hop over and read Tea and Cheese Pairings for Party Perfection to learn more about what the best cheeses are to select.
Another fun and delicious appetizer option is to serve bacon-wrapped grilled apricot chicken with goat cheese. Oh, and fresh fruit is always recommended and goes with any of these tea choices!
If you choose to make green or black tea for your party, I would recommend something like these smoked salmon tea sandwiches. They are absolutely perfect! If you're making an herbal tea, I'd recommend going with a lighter sandwich like a turkey sandwich, such as this one.
Now onto the favorite part—for many of us, right? Desserts! When serving an herbal or green tea, making something like a dreamy and creamy cheesecake is perfect! Try this easy Luscious Lemon No-Bake Green Tea Cheesecake. If you're serving a fruity black tea, then I'd recommend going the route of chocolate! This Chocolate Orange Tart with Shortbread Crust may pair perfectly with your choice of tea!
Scones are also another fabulous option, and beloved, that would go with any tea of choice. This scone cake would be lovely on your table and tasty on your tongue! Layers of scone, fresh whipping cream, fresh berries, and lemon make up this scone cake.
