This time of year, we still like to enjoy those delicious iced tea lattes. And while Plum Deluxe strongly recommends cold brew for iced tea, sometimes those delicious fall flavors open up better with a hot water infusion. Cold brew is so great for fruity teas and green/white teas, but hot water can be better for things like spices and chai.
One of our new fall flavors is Salted Caramel Black Tea. It's great hot tea, but it's phenomenal iced. It's also a good example where a hot infusion creates a stronger brew.
Here's a quick guide on how to make a shaken iced tea latte.
How to Make a Shaken Salted Caramel Iced Tea Latte
- Prepare your tea as normal: Steep 1 tsp Salted Caramel Black Tea in 8 oz boiling water 212f for 3-5 min. Set it aside and let it fully cool down.
- Grab a mason jar with a lid or a cocktail shaker, and fill with ice.
- Pour in your tea and shake until it is nice and frothy.
- Transfer to a fresh glass with fresh ice.
- Top with your choice of milk or cream.
CAUTION: Make sure you allow the tea to cool; if you shake hot water in a closed vessel it may break.
I couldn't believe how aromatic this latte was! So delicious and creamy and flavorful. You can also use non-dairy milk of any kind.
