There is so much variety to explore in tea that there is an opportunity for a veritable taste adventure every time you make a brew. Once you are familiar with the basics of black, green, and herbal teas, it’s time to start delving into the fruit featured in these teas. Let’s take a look at some fruity tea flavors to enjoy right now.
Where Can You Find Fruity Tea Flavors?
Most herbal tea blends are enhanced by the addition of dried fruits and the essence of natural fruits. If you scroll through the herbal tea page on Plum Deluxe, you’ll notice that each herbal tea often features one or two fruits.
For example, Self Care Blend’s signature fruits are elderberry and apricot. The herbal blend has dried elderberries and pieces of apricot, tied together by the lightly honey-scented honeybush tea.
Another great example of a fruity tea flavor is the Custard Apple herbal tea. This blend is made with the cherimoya, an Asian fruit (pronounced share-moy-ya) that is more commonly known as custard because of its texture. Think of a creamy green apple with a simple, clean, and not overly sweet finish.
What Do Fruity Teas Taste Like?
What does fruity tea taste like? You might be familiar with the tannin characteristic of black tea or the delicate earthy taste of green tea. Fruity teas taste just like you might think: fruity!
When you first open a package of fruit tea, take a minute to enjoy the amazing aromas that are released into the air. Let your sense of smell help you identify the fruits used in the blend.
After the fruit tea has been steeped in very hot water, the fruity tea flavors imbue their unique taste to the infusion. Depending on the fruit, it may taste tart or bright, like with the Pineapple Pop herbal tea. There are real pineapple pieces in this blend, along with a melange of other fruits such as apple, mango, and apricot. It’s like an ocean wave rolling in on a Hawaiian beach with refreshing fun and flavor.
Or, you may discover a soft and smooth taste, like with the Self Care Blend, an all-organic tea with mellow flavors of elderberry, believed to help us tap into our inner magic, and apricot, believed to be one of the most healing fruits in nature.
Best Fruity Tea Flavors
Of course, the best fruity tea flavors will be personal to your palate, but I can tell you what a couple of my favorite flavors are and you can try them, too.
I love a hot (or cold) cuppa fruity tea that is calming and soothing, and for me, apple teas are one of my favorites to turn to when I need to restore some balance in my life. Coconut Ginger Soother features apple in its blend, combined with coconut, ginger, and cinnamon. It’s reminiscent of a lightly spiced apple cider.
One of my other favorite fruity tea flavors is blueberry. Blueberries are considered a superfood because they are packed with vitamins and minerals supportive of our health and well-being. This fruit is a foremost ingredient in the blend of the Meadow Walk herbal tea, complemented by the herbs lavender and rosemary.
If you love blueberries, you'll also enjoy Huckleberry Happiness, a black tea blend featuring elderberry, black currant, blueberry, and huckleberry, a berry that bears many similarities to the blueberries we know and love.
Naturally Sweet Tea
Teas made of herbal and fruit blends can be naturally sweet. Just a small pinch of sugar will enhance the natural fruity tea flavors in a fruit tea blend. But, fruit tea doesn’t need sugar to make it amazing.
Take the Peach Oolong Tea, as an example. This blend of oolong and black teas is paired with peach and other fruit pieces made even better with some generous additions of vanilla. It’s a simple yet bold peach tea, not too sweet and incredibly satisfying.
Have you treated yourself to the Rejuvenation Blend Lemon Ginger tea? This blend starts with lots of fresh, spicy ginger root and crisp lemon peel. Boosted with a few apple pieces (my favorite!) and licorice root for sweetness, it’s topped with rose petals for a calming influence. This is a fabulous choice for a tea that tastes good without sugar: sweet and powerful, yet calming, all in one brew.

Fruity Green Tea
Many of the fruit teas we’re discussing are herbal teas, but you might be looking for a tea with a boost of caffeine. Fruity green tea is a complex and enticing blend of sweet fruits and earthy tea flavors with just a kick of energy to help you get going.
One of my favorite Plum Deluxe blends is the Abundance Blend green tea. A delicious, organically harvested sencha green tea is the base of this blend to which is added pure passion fruit extract for a fruity, healthy flavor infusion.
What is passion fruit? It comes from a flowering tropical vine. Its seeds are crunchy and the jelly-like flesh is refreshing. The citrusy taste can range from sour to very sweet.
Another fruity green tea that is a must-try is the Garden Grove green tea with jasmine and cherry. With tart cherries, calming jasmine, and the sweet smell of vanilla, this gently blended Chinese green tea is full of healing antioxidants and delicious flavor. A wonderful cherry tea blend that is great hot or on ice.
Fruit teas with or without caffeine are wonderful additions to any tea cabinet. I hope that now you’re excited to try some fruity tea flavors on your next tea adventure.
